Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 17, 2026

1. Introduction

AILA (“Artificial Intelligence Life Assistant”) is built by Adam Azad. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the AILA mobile apps, web dashboard, and backend services (collectively, the “Service”).

AILA is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. Your personal data is processed on infrastructure you control and is never sold or used to train third-party AI models.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information: Email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.

Calendar Data: When you connect Google Calendar, we access your event titles, times, locations, and attendees to provide scheduling intelligence. This data is fetched in real time and cached temporarily.

Financial Data: When you connect financial accounts via Plaid, we access account balances, transactions, and institution names. AILA never stores your bank credentials — Plaid handles authentication directly.

Conversation Data: Messages you send to AILA, including voice transcriptions, are stored to maintain conversation context and improve your experience.

Device Information: Push notification tokens (FCM/APNS) for delivering alerts. We do not collect device identifiers for tracking.

3. Third-Party Services

AILA integrates with the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Google (Calendar & Gmail) — OAuth 2.0 access to read/write calendar events and read email. Scopes are requested with user consent.
  • Plaid — Secure financial data aggregation. AILA never sees your bank login credentials.
  • Firebase (FCM) — Push notification delivery to iOS and Android devices.
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI language model processing. Conversations are sent to Anthropic's API for response generation. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and tunnel services for secure remote access.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • Deliver personalized morning briefings, calendar alerts, and financial summaries
  • Execute actions you request (scheduling events, managing tasks, tracking spending)
  • Maintain conversation memory for contextual responses
  • Send proactive notifications (upcoming events, spending alerts, reminders)
  • Improve AILA's accuracy and features based on usage patterns

5. Data Storage & Security

During the beta period, AILA data is stored on a self-hosted server controlled by the developer. Data at rest is stored in SQLite databases. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. API communication is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.3). OAuth tokens are stored securely and refreshed automatically.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Request a copy of all data AILA stores about you
  • Disconnect any third-party integration (Google, Plaid) from Settings
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Revoke AILA's access to Google or Plaid through those services directly

7. Data Retention

Conversation history is retained for 24 hours for context, then archived. Session data is retained for the duration of your account. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

AILA is not intended for use by individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AILA evolves. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
